This guide will tell you how to create a headphone mix, including talkback, in Greenrooms 1.
Patchbay:
1. Using a TRS jack to stereo bantam cable, plug the bantam end into the ‘Artist Foldback 1′ on the bantam patchbay.
2. Now plug the jack end into the ‘Aux’ input of channel 1 on the headphone amp. You can also plug the jack end into the 'Inject' input to send the signal to all headphone amp channels.
3. Before doing anything else, turn down the volume on the headphone amp.
Using a jack to mono bantam cable, plug the jack end into the ‘Phones’ socket on the same channel of the headphone amp.
4. Now plug the bantam end into ‘GR1 Tie Line A’ on the bantam patchbay.
5. Plug the headphones into Tie Line A in the live room.
Audient ASP8024-HE:
1. On the channels you want to send to the headphone mix, turn the Cue A send pot clockwise and press the ‘Pre’ button next to the Cue A send pot.
2. Turn up the Cue Master A pot.
3. Turn up the master pot for ‘Artist Foldback 1′ and make sure the left ‘Cue A’ button is pressed.
4. Now turn up the headphone amp master volume.
Stereo Imaging on a Headphone Mix
It is possible to create a stereo imaged headphone mix using Cue A and B. For this, Cue A will be the left channel, and Cue B the right.
1. On the channel(s) you want to send turn up either of the Cue send pots, depending on where you want the sound to appear and press the 'Pre' button next to the Cue send pots.
2. Turn up the Cue Master A and Cue Master B pots.
3. Turn up the master pot for 'Artist Foldback 1' and make sure the left 'Cue A' button, and the right 'Cue B' button are pressed.
4. Now turn up the headphone amp master volume.
Talkback:
1. Increase the talkback level and then press the ‘Artist Foldback’ button to talk to the performer.
