Cre­at­ing a Head­phone Mix and Using Talkback

This guide will tell you how to create a headphone mix, including talkback, in Greenrooms 1.

 

Patchbay:

1. Using a TRS jack to stereo ban­tam cable, plug the ban­tam end into the ‘Artist Fold­back 1′ on the ban­tam patchbay.

2. Now plug the jack end into the ‘Aux’ input of chan­nel 1 on the head­phone amp. You can also plug the jack end into the 'Inject' input to send the signal to all headphone amp channels.

3. Before doing any­thing else, turn down the vol­ume on the head­phone amp.

Using a jack to mono ban­tam cable, plug the jack end into the ‘Phones’ socket on the same chan­nel of the head­phone amp.

4. Now plug the ban­tam end into ‘GR1 Tie Line A’ on the ban­tam patchbay.

5. Plug the head­phones into Tie Line A in the live room.


 

Audient ASP8024-HE:

1. On the chan­nels you want to send to the head­phone mix, turn the Cue A send pot clock­wise and press the ‘Pre’ but­ton next to the Cue A send pot.

2. Turn up the Cue Mas­ter A pot.

3. Turn up the mas­ter pot for ‘Artist Fold­back 1′ and make sure the left ‘Cue A’ but­ton is pressed.

4. Now turn up the head­phone amp mas­ter volume.


 

Stereo Imaging on a Headphone Mix

It is possible to create a stereo imaged headphone mix using Cue A and B. For this, Cue A will be the left channel, and Cue B the right.

1. On the channel(s) you want to send turn up either of the Cue send pots, depending on where you want the sound to appear and press the 'Pre' button next to the Cue send pots.

2. Turn up the Cue Master A and Cue Master B pots.

3. Turn up the master pot for 'Artist Foldback 1' and make sure the left 'Cue A' button, and the right 'Cue B' button are pressed.

4. Now turn up the headphone amp master volume.


 

Talkback:

1. Increase the talk­back level and then press the ‘Artist Fold­back’ but­ton to talk to the performer.
